As the moon shines and the sun descends,
do you still feel so bright?
Who are you?
Where did you come from?
Why are you here?
I am a free spirit driven by passion and a never ending quest for adventure
I come from a stretched imagination and hands that create
I am here seeking laughter and friendship even when it is hiding in dark corners
I am young and old, black and white, healthy and ill, disciplined and free, a mess that is in order
I come from broken hearts, failed attempts, walking in circles, and sprinting at glass doors
I am here to enjoy being, to choose quickly and have no regret
I come from happily ever afters that they so don’t exist
I am here to see only good, to strip my heart from my chest and say here you go, do what you please
I am all loving, all trusting and not afraid, if the serpent bites it is only because I was admiring the beautiful colors and shapes it possessed
I am full of purpose, that ugly duckling, the annoying wood pecker
But I know who I am, where I came from, and why I am here. If you do not know, do not waste your time spinning your head trying to understand me, for I am quite confusing
Discover who you are, where you came from and why you are here
And we will all enjoy being friends not foes

“Don’t feel like I have much to write about but the kids are with their dad and I’m at church so I need to take advantage of the opportunity. I’m 26 weeks today. It’s really hard to breath. Blake and I are working hard to redecorate and utilize all our space in the house. We’ve made a lot of progress but also have a lot more work to do. The past month or two I’ve really struggled to balance all of my areas of work, School, family, church, my home business, and still relaxing. Hopefully, now that I’m starting to get over being sick, I can get better at managing it all”.
Questions to ponder:
- Does my life have meaning?
- Do I believe in God?
- Do I believe that God knows and loves me?
- Do I believe that God hears and answers my prayers?
- Are my efforts leading me to the highest spiritual goals in life?
“Some days are different than others. 9 out of 10 days I know that my life does have meaning. I have and always will believe in God. I know that God knows me and loves me. I know and believe I am happy! 🙂 And my efforts ARE leading me to the highest spiritual goals in life”.
“We are actually talking about our strengths and weaknesses right now and it just made me think. In the many years of working toward being an obedient disciple of Christ, the thoughts that have always continued to linger are these…”
- “You’re not good enough to go to the temple”
- “No man wants to love someone so broken”
- “You’re too sensitive and feel sorry for yourself”
- “You’re a sinner, therefore you will never be allowed to teach or hold a calling”
Above is a piece of my journal from me to you <3. This was 2 years ago. Confidence and a shining spirit is something that can come and go. Were you able to relate to any of these thoughts? As life gets busy, the tire gets flat, the dishes stack up, your bills pile up, do you still feel so bright? It can get hard, but you’re not alone and you’re not a failure.
Guess what!? My husband and I have been sealed in the Temple for almost 2 years now and still go regularly!
And I have had MANY opportunities to teach and mentor many young women and have found my eternal calling.
When the sun goes down. When you finally finish college. When the kids move out. Will you still feel so bright? I encourage you to keep a journal so you can remind yourself often of all you have accomplished, all that you’re capable of, and discover your divine potential.
Much Love ❤
